Officers from the provincial police force found a vehicle in the locality of El Soberbio, in the north-east of Misiones province, which had been seized days earlier under threat of a firearm in Buenos Aires territory.

The operation was triggered on Monday afternoon, when emergency dispatch notified the Second Police Station that a vehicle had overturned on the roadside of the access to Colonia Primavera, at the level of Provincial Route 15. The officers who travelled to the scene confirmed that it was a Volkswagen Bora with no occupants; those who were driving it had fled the location without leaving a trace.

During the assessment of the scene, the officers investigated the ownership and legal status of the automobile. From that inquiry it emerged that the Bora was subject to a valid court order for seizure, issued as part of an investigation into aggravated robbery involving the use of a firearm. The case was being processed by the Malvinas Argentinas Police Station, Third Section, located in the locality of Pablo Nogués, within the homonymous district of Greater Buenos Aires.

At the request of the competent judicial authority, the vehicle was removed from the public road and placed in custody for the corresponding procedural proceedings. The Misiones Police maintain active investigations aimed at establishing who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident and determining how it arrived in the border area.
