A pair of police operations carried out in different areas of Santiago del Estero made it possible to intercept two vehicles that presented legal problems. The discoveries occurred following intelligence work deployed in the provincial Capital and in the city of La Banda.

In the first case, officers proceeded to the América del Sur neighbourhood within the capital's jurisdiction. There they detected a Toyota Hilux whose registration plates showed signs of having been altered. When officials cross-checked the engine and chassis data against the documentation that accompanied the utility vehicle, they found discrepancies. The vehicle was listed as requested by the Buenos Aires judiciary: it had been stolen in September 2024 and the Argentine Federal Police maintained an active search alert.

The second seizure occurred at the intersection of San Martín Avenue and Alem Street, in La Banda. Officers reviewed a Ford Mondeo and, although the mechanical identification matched the paperwork, a query in the computer systems revealed that there was a court order against it for unlawful deprivation of possession. The case had been initiated days earlier in Salta.

At the request of the intervening public prosecutors' offices, both vehicles were deposited in a facility of the local security force. The case files remain ongoing in order to clarify the chain of custody through which they passed and to determine whether there are additional criminal suspects.
