"Melli" tried for Santiago Alcócer's murder in Lomas de Zamora
Sebastián Saudán, known as "Melli", began trial this Thursday 5 November before Criminal Court (TOC) 6 in Lomas de Zamora for the murder of Santiago Alcócer, which occurred in April 2023 in the Parque Barón neighbourhood, according to launion.com.ar.
Alcócer was 18 years old when he was stabbed to death in a house in the neighbourhood. Following the homicide, his body was dismembered and taken to a rubbish dump in the locality of Transradio, where it was abandoned. Furthermore, the body was set on fire to hinder its identification. However, DNA tests confirmed that the remains belonged to the teenager.
The body was found several days after Alcócer's family had reported his disappearance. Security camera records proved key to reconstructing the route taken with the victim's remains, according to the case file accessed by the newspaper.
This is the second trial linked to the case. In August 2025, Eliana Maciel, nicknamed "Barby Queen", was found guilty and sentenced to 14 years in prison, a sentence she is currently serving. Maciel was known on social media as a TikToker and, according to reports, frequently used a mobile phone from prison to post videos of her incarceration.
Now, Criminal Court 6 will seek to determine Saudán's criminal responsibility, identified as the principal accused in the crime. Prosecutor Marina Rocovich will be in charge of the prosecution in the proceedings.
