Police detained three people in Concordia, Argentina, during a night-time operation in which packages of cocaine, marijuana and scales were seized.

During the early hours of Saturday, police officers carried out a saturated night-time operation in several neighbourhoods of Concordia, province of Entre Ríos, which ended with three people arrested and the seizure of prohibited substances along with sales equipment.
According to a report published by Diario Río Uruguay, the deployment involved participation from the Dangerous Drugs Division and took place in areas under the jurisdiction of the Seventh Police Station and the Fourth Police Station.
In an initial action, near J. Odiard and España streets, officers from the Body and Guard Section surprised two men who, upon noticing the uniformed officers, attempted to abandon a bag containing several packages. Narcotics specialists confirmed it contained cocaine.
Prosecutor Natalia Conti ordered the detention of both young men, 20 years old each, accused of possessing drugs for the purpose of selling them. At the scene, 70 cocaine wrappings and a mobile phone were seized.
Later, at the intersection of J. J. Valle and Próspero Bovino, officers intercepted another man who attempted to discard a large black nylon package and a scale. Inspection revealed it contained a block of marijuana and a small scale.
The same magistrate ordered the apprehension of this individual, 24 years old, for the same type of offence: possession of narcotics for purposes of trafficking. The seized objects were added to the judicial investigation.
Police authorities indicated that these interventions form part of preventive actions being carried out at various points in the city to intensify control and uncover illicit activities linked to drug trafficking.
