14-year-old convicted of graveyard murder with 82 stab wounds
Vienna's regional criminal court has convicted a 14-year-old juvenile of murder and sentenced her to eight years imprisonment followed by commitment to an institution for mentally abnormal offenders. On the afternoon of 23 February, she killed a 64-year-old woman with 82 stab and cut wounds at Baumgartner Cemetery in the 14th district.
During the court medical examiner Christoph Reisinger's presentation of the details, one of the lay judges left the courtroom on health grounds. He could not tolerate the gruesome circumstances and was relieved of his duties.
The defendant was represented by lawyers Astrid Wagner and Dominique Perl. The trial took place under exclusion of the public.
