The incident occurred in a shop where the man was employed at the time in question. To gain access to the money, he is said to have used access codes that were actually reserved only for management. Using these codes, he allegedly opened the till. He then entered fictitious pawn bonds and withdrew 158 euros in cash from the till.
The prosecution authority treats this as a case of serious theft. Although the amount may appear relatively small, the manner of the offence – the use of access codes and the deliberate false entry – justifies the classification as serious theft, in the view of the public prosecutor's office.
According to a report by 5min.at, the trial will open on the coming Monday. The accused is presumed innocent until a final judgment is delivered.
