22-year-old attacks emergency responders and police in Lower Austria
During the night shift, police and emergency services had to respond in Lower Austria. A 22-year-old with obvious signs of alcohol intoxication and a head injury was lying in a meadow.
The helpers on site immediately began providing medical care. However, the young man refused to allow treatment and would not calm down. His aggression towards those present steadily increased.
When an officer asked him about the background of the situation, the man suddenly attempted to flee. However, this attempt failed because of his intoxicated state. Subsequently, his anger escalated further. He insulted the emergency personnel and the police officers. Multiple attempts to appease him remained unsuccessful. He threatened anyone who came too close to him with physical attacks.
During an attempt to restrain him, the 22-year-old struck at a police officer. The officer was able to dodge the blow and remained unharmed. He also slapped a paramedic.
The emergency responders then arrested the man. After his arrest, he calmed down. He was subsequently taken to Scheibbs State Hospital to treat the injury he had sustained before the operation. Several charges were filed against him on both criminal and administrative grounds. None of the police officers sustained injuries during the incident.
