A young adult aged 23 is alleged to have attacked two people in Vienna's 15th district with a blade on Thursday evening and the following night. Police took the suspect into custody.

The first incident occurred around 19:00 near Vogelweidpark. The accused is said to have asked the later victim for hashish. When the man refused, the 23-year-old is alleged to have stabbed him. Emergency services treated the seriously injured man and took him to hospital. His life was not in danger.

Around midnight, a further altercation occurred in Denglergasse. During a verbal dispute, the suspect is said to have stabbed again. The second victim suffered only superficial injuries and was also admitted to hospital.

In the early morning hours, neighbours discovered the man sleeping in a garage and called security forces. Officers recognised the 23-year-old and arrested him on the instructions of the Vienna state prosecutor's office. Due to his impaired condition, an interview could not initially be carried out.
