33-year-old held in Upper Austria on charges of drug trafficking and domestic violence
A 33-year-old man from the Ried im Innkreis district is being held in pre-trial detention. He is accused of commercial drug trafficking and repeated assault on his partner.
Officers from the Coordinated Criminal Service observed the suspect over a period of weeks. Under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, they were able to build a case against him. He is alleged to have ordered several kilograms of marijuana and hashish online between November 2025 and his arrest, and resold them for profit in the Ried region. He has admitted to part of the allegations.
On 18 June 2026, the emergency services took action and searched the suspect's apartments. They secured a professional indoor cannabis cultivation facility. The 33-year-old was arrested on the spot and subsequently taken to Ried Prison.
The man's 40-year-old partner also came under investigation. Police found narcotics at her residence; she was initially detained but later released and charged.
In the course of the investigation, another offence came to light: since December 2025, the suspect is alleged to have systematically abused his girlfriend. According to reports, the woman sustained injuries across her entire body. The 33-year-old also made a partial admission to this charge.
