On Thursday afternoon, police in Kundl arrested a 49-year-old man from Hungary. The incident occurred following a break-in at a residential house. Investigators suspect that the arrested man is behind further thefts in the area.

Shortly after 2 p.m., several patrol cars were dispatched after passers-by noticed a break-in. According to reports, the suspect had gained access to the house using a crowbar, having forced open the terrace door.

A witness surprised the burglar in the act. He then fled through a window on the north side of the building and escaped on an electric bicycle. Officers immediately initiated a manhunt and were able to apprehend the man that same afternoon, at around 2:42 p.m.

Further investigations revealed that the Hungarian man may also be responsible for a break-in in Auffach. The items stolen during this theft were found by investigators. He is also said to have committed a further attempted break-in in Kundl.

The electric bicycle that the man used to flee also turned out to be stolen. It had previously been stolen in Kirchbichl. The 49-year-old admitted the offences to officers. The Innsbruck public prosecutor's office ordered his admission to Innsbruck correctional facility.
