The 70-year-old Etchika Pollex was found dead in a top-floor flat at Vienna's Naschmarkt. The woman, who originated from Germany and worked as a promoter in boxing and as a book author, fell victim to a knife attack. Her body was discovered by friends.
Shortly before her death, Pollex had expressed herself positively in a social media video. She spoke of a happy turn in her life and a loving partner. Pollex was a trans woman who underwent gender confirmation surgery in Thailand over the course of her life.
Investigators are focusing on a flatmate who is currently being sought.
