A dispute over garden waste escalated on the morning of 19 June in Kufstein and ended with an arrest. A 79-year-old tenant became involved in a heated dispute with the caretaker of his building. During the altercation, the senior made a threat to the caretaker, stating he would shoot him.

Police were alerted and found the pensioner near the scene. At around 9 o'clock, officers arrested the man without resistance. Following the arrest, investigators searched the 79-year-old's flat and confiscated all firearms, ammunition and associated equipment in his possession. The weapons were provisionally seized.

On the instructions of the responsible public prosecutor, the suspect was released on 13 o'clock. Investigations into the suspicion of dangerous threats are ongoing. A final report will be submitted to the Innsbruck public prosecutor's office. Furthermore, the Kufstein district authority will be informed of the provisional firearms ban issued.
