A fake police officer called an 82-year-old woman from the Klagenfurt-Land district and tricked her into believing a break-in was imminent. The elderly woman was induced to place her valuables in a bag outside the house. Shortly afterwards, a woman collected the stolen goods.

Around 20:30, a neighbour spotted the suspicious person leaving the property. He noted the registration number of the getaway vehicle and alerted police. Thanks to this information, officers were able to stop the car around 22:30 in Framrach (Wolfsberg district).

During a search of the vehicle, officers found the stolen items hidden under a seat. The arrested individuals are a 30-year-old man from Slovakia and a 48-year-old woman from Austria. Both were taken to Klagenfurt police detention centre.

The value of the valuables is currently unknown.
