In the Styrian town of Leoben, a brutal attack on a taxi driver occurred during a festival of the Burschenschaft Leder fraternity. The victim sustained serious injuries on the night of Friday to Saturday on the premises of the Ehgartner company in the Donawitz district.

The driver suffered grazes, haematomas, two bumps on the head, and bruising across his entire body. Three members of the fraternity are believed to be responsible for the assault. Additionally, racist slogans such as "Sieg Heil" are reported to have been shouted at the event.

The state security service has taken over investigations against the suspects. The police stated that they had increased surveillance of the 140th foundation festival, which had featured AfD politician Matthias Helferich as an announced speaker. The attacked driver reported that he waited a quarter of an hour for assistance.
