German arrested at Vienna Gürtel during drugs check with €4,000 in outstanding fines
A police check at Vienna's Gürtel escalated on Thursday afternoon. Two men who caught officers' attention attempted to flee around 4 p.m., according to Krone.at.
The police officers quickly caught up with the pair. During a search, they seized marijuana and Substitol tablets. One of the two suspects was a 57-year-old German, and a further problem emerged: he had approximately €4,000 in outstanding fines to pay.
When the officers confronted him with this, the man attempted to escape again and shoved a police officer aside. It was only through the use of physical force that officers managed to arrest him.
