On Wednesday morning, a suspected break-in theft in Sautens triggered a police operation. During a search, officers seized narcotics and several firearms and bladed weapons. The man who had filed the break-in report himself became the focus of the investigation.
At around 9.30 a.m. on 11 March 2026, a 41-year-old citizen alerted the police. He stated that a break-in had occurred in Sautens. When the patrol arrived, however, the caller was unable to provide specific information about the crime scene or the time of the offence.
During the conversation, officers detected a strong smell of marijuana. When asked, the 41-year-old admitted to having consumed the drug and to carrying it on him. He consented to a voluntary search.
During this search, officers found approximately 35 grammes of dried cannabis plant material. They also discovered various blades, crossbows, air rifles and an alarm gun. A weapons ban had already been in place against the suspect.
The confiscated items were seized. The Innsbruck State Prosecution was informed.
