In the St. Veit an der Glan district, executive police officers stopped a car on the Klagenfurt expressway on 27 June at approximately 18:23. The driver, a twenty-year-old, showed visible signs of being under the influence of narcotics.
A subsequent clinical examination confirmed the officers' assessment: the man was unfit to drive. Furthermore, he did not possess a valid driving licence himself. To conceal this, he handed over his brother's identification document. However, the deception was discovered.
During the check, the officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis in the interior. They searched the vehicle and passengers, finding a small quantity of illegal substances. A service dog handler and his tracking dog "Kiri" were alerted. The dog located further drugs in the vehicle.
The man in question now faces charges for various regulatory violations and criminal offences.
