In Wolfsberg district, Carinthian state police have conducted a crackdown on drug trafficking. Officers from the state criminal investigation office monitored a car park where a major drug transaction was planned to take place on 12 June 2026. When the deal was actually carried out, the operatives moved in.

In total, officers arrested five people involved. Among them were three male and two female suspects aged 18 to 35 years. Police officers found an infant just five months old with one of the women, whom she had brought to the scene.

In the subsequent searches, investigators secured substantial quantities of drugs. In addition to approximately five kilograms of high-grade cocaine, they also discovered cannabis and amphetamines. Cash was also seized.

The public prosecutor's office ordered four of the accused to be remanded in custody at Klagenfurt prison. The fifth suspect was charged whilst remaining free. The state criminal investigation office continues with further investigations.
