Break-in at farm shop in Langkampfen: Perpetrator detained by owner
A break-in theft at a farm shop in Langkampfen in the Tyrolean Kufstein district has been rapidly resolved. The alleged perpetrator was identified by the owner of the business, held until law enforcement arrived, and subsequently taken into custody.
On 30 June, an unknown person forced open the farm shop and stole a sum of cash in the mid-three-figure range from the till. Already the following morning, shortly before 10 o'clock, the 43-year-old Austrian operator of the shop noticed the man in the vicinity of the premises. He confronted the suspect about the act.
The 30-year-old Austrian then attempted to flee, but was caught by the owner and held on the ground until a police patrol arrived. The officers subsequently arrested the man.
The financial damage caused by the theft is in the mid-three-figure euro range. Criminal investigations are still ongoing.
