A 53-year-old man was arrested in Klagenfurt in the early hours of Thursday. His partner had previously reported to police that he had physically assaulted her.
According to police, the woman went to a police station in Klagenfurt at around 0.15 on 25 June. She reported that her partner had hit her on the head with a beer mug and injured her arm.
Officers then travelled to the couple's shared flat to issue the man with a restraining order preventing him from entering or approaching the property. Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly behaved in a highly aggressive manner and disregarded the officers' instructions.
As he did not cooperate, the officers ordered his arrest. The man resisted strongly, so the police officers had to use pepper spray to bring him under control. He was then taken to a police facility.
