Milan: Three Egyptians arrested for serious crimes committed in Austria
Milan police have arrested three Egyptian nationals on the basis of European arrest warrants issued by Austria. They are accused of attempted murder, deprivation of liberty and sexual violence against a fellow national in Graz on 8 February 2026. A fourth accomplice is being sought.

The Criminal Police of Milan have arrested three Egyptian nationals on the basis of European arrest warrants issued by the Austrian judicial authorities. The operation was coordinated internationally by Eurojust and at national level by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Appeal of Milan.
The three men, aged 26, 44 and 36, who live between Milan and the province, are suspected of serious attempted murder, deprivation of liberty and sexual violence. A fourth person, a 41-year-old fellow national, was not found and is currently being sought.
According to the investigations of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Graz, the crimes date back to 8 February 2026. The victim, an Egyptian national, is reported to have been attacked in Austria with extreme brutality, deprived of his personal freedom and subjected to serious criminal offences. The attackers are said to have used improvised weapons and a firearm.
As part of the operation, investigators also executed a European Investigation Order and seized the vehicle that was used to commit the crimes.
The activity demonstrated close cooperation between judicial authorities and police forces from different countries and proved the effectiveness of cross-border cooperation in criminal matters.
