Judge Helene Gnida posed the obvious question to the witness whether she had not become suspicious that Danny K. could procure such a large sum of money for her without further ado. "Extremely! Extremely surprised" she was about it, the woman answered.

When she additionally received a cancer diagnosis, a promised loan on favourable terms was a matter of existential necessity for her.
The trial thus sheds light not only on the alleged fraudulent acts of Danny K., but also on the extreme vulnerability of the person affected at the time of the alleged offence.
