Car attack on brother on Seefeld plateau – 32-year-old remanded in custody
In the night of Monday, 29 June, a serious incident occurred between two brothers on the Seefeld plateau. At around 00:10, a 32-year-old and his 27-year-old brother became embroiled in a loud dispute in front of a bar. The verbal altercation soon turned into physical violence.
The younger of the two then withdrew on foot from the scene. According to the investigative findings available, the older brother then allegedly took a vehicle and drove directly towards his brother. The 27-year-old was struck by the car, hit the windscreen and fell to the ground.
He sustained injuries whose exact severity was not initially established. Paramedics treated him at the scene and then transported him to hospital in Innsbruck. He has since been discharged from the clinic.
The suspect, who does not hold a driving licence, left the scene in the vehicle after the incident. Police officers from the Telfs station were able to apprehend him shortly thereafter. Alcohol was also detected in his system.
Owing to the allegation of attempted manslaughter, the officers took the man to Innsbruck prison. The authorities' investigations are ongoing.
