The patrol initially registered a loud dispute on the station forecourt. One of the individuals then fled in the direction of the bus station. The officers gave chase and eventually apprehended the man.
According to current findings, the suspect – a 26-year-old from Völkermarkt district – allegedly attempted to steal a rucksack at around 2 p.m. When the officers apprehended him, he offered considerable resistance. He behaved extremely aggressively and refused to cooperate, which is why the police officers had to restrain him. In the course of this, he struck one of the officers in the face.
The accused was taken to St. Ruprechter Straße police station, where he was questioned. Following the conclusion of ongoing investigations, charges will be filed.
