According to investigations so far, the accused is suspected of repeatedly ordering larger quantities of marijuana and hashish via online platforms from the beginning of November 2025 until his arrest. He is said to have subsequently resold the substance to customers in the area around the city of Ried. The total quantity is estimated at four to six kilogrammes.
On 18 June 2026, investigators searched several apartments in connection with the suspect. They arrested the 33-year-old there. His 40-year-old live-in partner was also provisionally taken into custody after being found in possession of narcotics during the operation. Officers discovered an indoor cannabis cultivation facility in the apartment. The public prosecutor's office later released the woman.
In addition to the drug charges, the authorities are investigating the arrested man for repeated assault. He is suspected of beating his partner almost every week since December 2025. The woman sustained injuries in several parts of her body during these assaults. He has admitted to parts of this allegation.
The man was remanded to Ried correctional facility.
