During several focused operations in the state of Salzburg and in the Linz-Land district, law enforcement officers removed several road users and travellers from the road on Monday evening. The checks resulted in arrests, driving licence suspensions, and drug seizures.
In Radstadt, a 64-year-old from the Pongau region was found driving with a blood alcohol content of 1.48 per mille. Officers immediately suspended the man's driving licence. At the same time, law enforcement units in the Linz-Land district inspected vehicle drivers and likewise discovered a drunk driver as well as a man without a driving licence.
Between the towns of Saalfelden and Schwarzach, police officers inspected railway stations and trains. When checking nine persons, officers found narcotics on three of them. A total of approximately 270 grammes was seized. Law enforcement filed charges against those affected; investigations are ongoing.
In the course of the same compliance operation, officers spotted a Slovak national. An entry and residence ban for Austria was in place against the man. He was arrested and transferred to a police station.
