In the early hours of Sunday, a violent incident occurred between two brothers outside a restaurant on the Seefeld Plateau in Tyrol. A 32-year-old man from Germany reportedly got into an argument with his 27-year-old brother, which eventually escalated into a physical altercation.
The younger brother subsequently left the scene on foot. The older brother, however, got into a car and drove towards his brother. The 27-year-old was thrown against the windscreen and fell to the ground. He sustained injuries whose severity could not initially be assessed. Emergency services took the injured man to Innsbruck Clinic, where he was already able to be discharged.
The 32-year-old left the scene of the incident with the vehicle. However, officers from Telfs police station were able to apprehend him shortly afterwards. A breathalyser test on him was positive. Additionally, the accused does not have a valid driving licence. Investigators are treating the incident as attempted manslaughter. The German was taken into custody at Innsbruck Prison.
