A serious violent crime occurred in an apartment in Niederwölz, Styria, in the evening. A 68-year-old man allegedly attacked his partner, who is four years younger than him. The woman sustained injuries classified as life-threatening.
Witnesses in the neighbourhood noticed the incident at approximately 19:45 and intervened to assist the woman. At the same time, police arrived with a large deployment.
According to current investigations, the senior is believed to have stabbed his victim. Following the act, he jumped from a balcony, presumably with the intention of taking his own life. In doing so, he suffered numerous fractures and other trauma.
Emergency services brought both individuals to medical facilities. The further circumstances are the subject of ongoing investigations.
