Dead cat in Admont fastened to cross – police appeal for witness information
As reported by Kleine Zeitung, passers-by made a gruesome discovery in the Aigen district of Admont on the morning of 14 October: a dead black cat had been fastened with screws to a homemade wooden cross approximately one metre tall.
A veterinarian who was called in confirmed that the animal had been abused before being killed. The cat was apparently first tormented, then shot – afterwards the perpetrators screwed the body to the cross.
The witnesses who raised the alarm immediately notified the police, who then launched an investigation. As these enquiries have so far been unsuccessful, the police have now – roughly two weeks after the incident – appealed to the public.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Admont police station on 059 133 6341.
