Vienna: Three men overpowered during cocaine deal – drugs, cash and weapon seized
Since spring 2025, Vienna criminal investigators have been conducting inquiries into several already-known suspects. The focus was on suspicion that the group imported cocaine from abroad into Austria and sold it for profit here.
The investigators employed various tactics over an extended period, including covert surveillance. Eventually, the specialist unit was able to follow a business transaction in flagrante delicto: one kilogramme of the white powder was to change hands for 28,000 euros. Immediately after the handover, officers moved in and arrested a 31-year-old man with a Turkish passport.
This was followed by arrests of two further alleged ringleaders – a 30- and a 32-year-old Austrian citizens.
During subsequent house searches, investigators discovered further evidence: nearly 33 grammes of cocaine, roughly six grammes each of cannabis resin and cannabis herb, approximately 10,000 euros in cash, a semi-automatic firearm of category B, and two luxury vehicles.
During interrogations, the three arrested men made no statements regarding the allegations. On the instructions of the prosecution authority, they were placed in custody pending trial.
