Bolivian deported from Miami detained at Viru Viru with Interpol red notice
A Bolivian citizen with an Interpol Red Notice for sexual offence was apprehended upon landing in Santa Cruz. He also had a pending judicial arrest warrant in La Paz.

A Bolivian citizen identified as Sergio I.F.M. was apprehended in the early morning hours on Sunday at Viru Viru International Airport in Santa Cruz, upon arrival on a flight from Miami, according to reduno.com.bo.
The detention was carried out thanks to coordination between the International Affairs Unit of the Office of the Attorney General (FGE), police authorities, and the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Bolivia.
Red Notice and judicial warrant
María Luisa Herrera, national head of the International Affairs Unit of the FGE, explained that the citizen had an Interpol Red Notice linked to criminal proceedings for a sexual offence.
"This is Sergio I.F.M., who arrived on a flight from Miami and had an Interpol Red Notice linked to criminal proceedings for a sexual offence, as well as an arrest warrant issued by judicial authorities in La Paz for the enforcement of a sentence," Herrera stated.
The alert was activated following communication received through channels of international police cooperation with United States authorities.
Airport procedures
Personnel from the NCB-Interpol Bolivia intervened with the citizen at the moment he entered national territory. He was subsequently transferred to police facilities at the airport, where registration, identification and documentation procedures were carried out.
At approximately 05:45, the man was handed over by official record to the Special Force to Combat Violence (FELCV). That unit executed the judicial warrant issued by an authority in La Paz and left the citizen detained pending action by the competent authorities.
Attorney General's Office highlights institutional coordination
The Office of the Attorney General stated that the case reflects coordinated work between national and international institutions to identify persons with pending judicial proceedings in Bolivia. The International Affairs Unit highlighted that timely exchange of information enables action regarding the return of Bolivian citizens with active judicial requirements.
