Argentine former adviser Cerimedo transferred to Chonchocoro prison in Bolivia

Cerimedo sent to the highlands in overnight operation
Fernando Cerimedo, Argentine former adviser to Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz, was transferred in the early hours of Tuesday from Palmasola prison in Santa Cruz to Chonchocoro penitentiary, located on the outskirts of Viacha in the suburbs of El Alto, according to apnews.com.
The transfer took place amid a major police operation. Cerimedo, who also worked as an adviser to Argentine President Javier Milei, faces two charges in Bolivian courts.
The first arrest occurred in August on suspicion of attempted femicide, linked to a shooting attack against his former partner Nadia Beller, the offence for which he was being held at Palmasola.
The Bolivian public prosecutor's office subsequently filed a second charge for suspected illicit enrichment, following the discovery of cash and technological equipment at his residence in La Paz. A judge then ordered his confinement to Chonchocoro, which prompted the transfer.
President Paz has attempted to distance himself from the adviser and stated that there was no formal working relationship with him. However, local media circulated images of Cerimedo alongside the president at public events.
