Shooter who shot Rota lieutenant in São Caetano identified by police
The São Paulo Civil Police have succeeded in identifying the individual who fired against lieutenant Ronickson Pimentel dos Santos, 39 years old, a member of Rota (Ostensive Patrols Tobias de Aguiar). The attack occurred on Saturday morning (27) in São Caetano do Sul, in the metropolitan region of the São Paulo capital.
The revelation constitutes the latest progress in the investigations, which, according to the authorities, point to an action planned in advance. The crime had logistical support and at least four different vehicles used during the operation.
The officer, who was off duty and not in uniform, had just left a gym when he was surprised by two men on a motorcycle. They approached while he was waiting at a traffic light on Avenida Goiás and fired shots at his head.
The victim was assisted by Samu and transported to hospital by the Military Police Águia helicopter. Currently, he remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital Estadual Mário Covas in Santo André. Despite the severity, doctors registered favourable neurological progress, with reduction in cerebral oedema and reduced need for medication to control blood pressure.
Lieutenant Ronickson is the elder brother of Eloá Pimentel, a 15-year-old teenager murdered in 2008 by her ex-partner Lindemberg Alves, after being held hostage for more than four days.
