The Civil Police is searching for two suspects in the murder of gospel singer Luiz Carlos da Silva, 42, who was stabbed on Sunday evening (30) at a fishing lodge in the Nossa Senhora Aparecida neighbourhood in Porto Ferreira (SP), as reported by g1.globo.com.

The suspects under investigation are a 17-year-old adolescent and a 20-year-old man — respectively the boyfriend and brother of a 15-year-old adolescent who claimed to have been sexually harassed by Luiz via messages. According to the Police Report, the two would have planned to "give a fright" to the victim, but the situation "got out of control", resulting in the homicide.

The crime occurred around 7 p.m. Luiz, who lived in São Carlos (SP), managed to enter the fishing lodge's ranch wounded and covered in blood, but was pursued by the attacker and struck by further knife blows, dying on the spot. During the investigation, the Civil Police analysed security camera footage and located a vandalised car and an abandoned bicycle in the vicinity.

At the suspects' property, officers seized a baseball bat and identified the 15-year-old adolescent, a relative of the singer. In her statement, she declared that she had been sexually harassed by Luiz through messages and reported the case to her boyfriend, who subsequently informed his brother.

The police report does not specify who inflicted the knife blows nor the exact role of each of the two suspects in the murder. "The case was recorded as homicide and is being investigated by the 1st Police District of Porto Ferreira, which aims to locate the perpetrators and clarify the facts", the state Public Security Department stated.

The g1.globo.com report questioned the Department about access to the alleged messages and whether they are under investigation, but received no response by the time the article was published. The suspects' defence counsel was also not located. The names of those involved who are minors are not disclosed.

The body of Luiz Carlos da Silva was buried on the morning of Tuesday (1st) at the Nossa Senhora do Carmo Cemetery in Porto Ferreira.
