Two arrested in Federal Police operations at Guarulhos Airport
On 1 July, agents of the Federal Police at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo carried out two arrests in distinct circumstances.
During passenger screening in the departure sector, police discovered that a traveller had an active arrest warrant for non-compliance with child support obligations. The man was about to travel to Palmas in Tocantins when he was approached and detained.
At another point in the terminal, a foreign national of American origin was taken to the police station after verbally assaulting airport workers with expressions of a prejudicial nature. The same individual also destroyed a window in the facility. His actions resulted in charges of discriminatory offence and vandalism of public property.
The American was arrested in flagrante delicto and will be subject to legal proceedings for the offences committed at the location.
