Four vehicles were involved in a chain collision on Saturday morning (20) on Avenida dos Bandeirantes, an upmarket area in the southern zone of São Paulo. The incident occurred near the corner with Alameda Vicente Pinzon, within the Vila Olímpia neighbourhood, and caused no injuries.

Special attention fell on the driver of a white coupé from German brand Porsche. According to a police document, it is Maicon Kreuzburg dos Santos, who makes his living in the betting market — online sports betting platforms. When confronted by officers, he declined to take a breathalyser test.

Due to his refusal to take the alcohol test, the man was taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine for sample collection. The other drivers involved in the crash agreed to undergo testing, and none of them tested positive for alcohol in their blood.

Forensic technicians attended the site of the incident to conduct surveys. The 27th Police District took charge of the investigation.

Investigators detected signs that the businessman may have consumed alcoholic drinks before getting behind the wheel. Legal proceedings were initiated to determine whether there was a violation of article 306 of the Traffic Code, which punishes driving under the influence of alcohol or another psychoactive substance.

The case remains under scrutiny. The traffic police authority had not yet delivered all the information relating to the incident.
