Man poses as police officer to commit scam at petrol station in São Paulo interior

A 55-year-old man was arrested in flagrante after posing as a police officer and committing a scam at a petrol station in Cândido Mota (SP), according to g1.globo.com.

In accordance with the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the suspect claimed to be a security agent in order to gain the trust of the establishment's staff. With this false credential, he would fill up his vehicle and remove products from the convenience store without making any payment.

After detecting the scheme, the staff members called the Military Police, who began searching the area. The man was located hours later in Assis (SP) and detained on 29 August.

The case was registered as fraud at the Police Station in Cândido Mota.
