Man with 68-year sentence for sexual abuse arrested on Minas highway
Military Police officers arrested a 52-year-old fugitive on the morning of Sunday (21) during an inspection on MG-164, near kilometre 136, in the city of Bom Despacho. The individual was located inside a truck travelling in the direction of Nova Serrana-Curvelo.
Officers conducted a system check and verified that the passenger had a final sentence of 68 years of imprisonment, handed down by the Justice of the Curvelo District. The sentence relates to offences of sexual violation against a vulnerable person and unlawful possession of a firearm. There was also an active arrest warrant against him since September 2025.
After confirmation of the details, the officers enforced the judicial order and took the detainee to the local police station. He remains at the disposal of the Judiciary.
The stop is part of the overt patrols carried out by the police force on roads crossing the Centre-West of Minas Gerais.
