A 45-year-old man shot his girlfriend to death on Monday (24) and subsequently called police confessing to the crime in Almirante Tamandaré, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. The case was reported by g1.globo.com.

The suspect was identified as Antônio Alexandre de Olegário. The victim, Thaiza Camila da Silva Trindade, was 32 years old.

According to police, the argument started after Antônio claimed to have found photos on Thaiza's mobile phone that aroused his jealousy. During the fight, he drew a weapon and shot her.

After the crime, the man travelled to the residence of his ex-partner in Colombo, also in the Metropolitan Region, and reported what had happened. He then asked her to call police, stating that he intended to surrender.

"He went to his ex-wife's house and, at that location, he told the entire situation and asked her to call the police, that he was going to turn himself in. He described in detail what would have motivated him to commit this crime," detailed delegate Gabriel Rocha Rozendo Pinto.

Antônio was arrested in flagrante delicto and taken to Curitiba Public Jail. The suspect's defence had not been located by the time the report was finalised.
