Mother and daughter arrested for stabbing in Miranda do Norte; father flees
Two women have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder in Miranda do Norte (MA). The father, identified as an accomplice, is a fugitive and is being sought by police.

According to a report on g1.globo.com, a 39-year-old mother and her 19-year-old daughter were arrested on the morning of Monday (20) in Miranda do Norte, in Maranhão, on suspicion of having stabbed a woman on 27 May in the Bairro Novo neighbourhood.
According to the investigation, Jefferson da Costa Silva, known as "Jenifran", and his daughter allegedly restrained the victim whilst the mother inflicted several knife wounds. The victim suffered serious injuries but was aided by residents and taken to a hospital in the city. The motive for the crime was not disclosed.
The preventive arrest warrants were issued by the Comarca of Itapecuru-Mirim. The operation was supported by the Superintendence of Homicides and Protection of Persons (SHPP), from São Luís.
The judicial orders against the two women were carried out during the operation. Jefferson da Costa Silva, however, managed to escape and continues to be sought by the Civil Police.
