Italian police arrested on Thursday (18) a Brazilian citizen who was being sought by authorities in Santa Catarina. The arrest took place in the Turin region in northern Italy, in an operation carried out in partnership with the Federal Police and Interpol.

The detainee is accused of qualified attempted murder committed in the city of Blumenau in 2021. The Federal Police located evidence about where she was hiding and then informed the judge conducting the criminal proceedings. This made it possible to include her name in Interpol's Red Notice on 11 June this year.

While awaiting the processing of documents necessary for her extradition back to Brazil, the woman will remain detained in Italian territory.
