A 22-year-old man was detained in Vera Cruz, in the interior of São Paulo, after threatening to kill his grandparents, aged 68 and 70, who refused to lend him a vehicle.

A 22-year-old man was detained in flagrante on Thursday (3rd) in Vera Cruz, in the interior of São Paulo, accused of threatening to kill his own grandparents. The arrest took place on Rua Treze de Maio, just metres from the family home.
According to the incident report, a 68-year-old elderly woman, retired, went to the police station and reported that her grandson had requested the grandparents' vehicle to drive to Marília. When she denied his request, he began to verbally abuse her. The young man then said he would slit the two elderly people's throats.
The victim's grandfather, aged 70, was at work at the time of the argument. He was informed of the threats and returned to the residence.
Civil police officers located the accused near the house. During the approach, he displayed aggressive behaviour, hurled insults at the officers and resisted arrest.
The young man was charged with the crimes of domestic violence, threats and contempt of court.
