Police operation in Salto targeted PCC's parallel justice structure
In the early morning and morning of 18 June, security forces launched a large-scale operation in the city of Salto, located in the area of influence of Sorocaba, in the state of São Paulo. The target was the parallel justice structure set up by the faction Primeiro Comando da Capital, known as PCC.
The initiative, named Operation Veredictum, mobilised civil police, military police and municipal civil guard agents. Together, they executed a dozen provisional custody orders and twenty search warrants spread across multiple points in the municipality. The coordination was managed by the sectional police authority in the Sorocaba region.
By the time the original report was closed, half a dozen people were already in custody. Among them, five corresponded to the suspects identified by the arrest orders. The sixth was apprehended on the spot for selling illicit substances, having been caught with a considerable quantity of drugs.
Additionally, the inspection teams collected gambling equipment during the residential searches. Field work continued in search of new suspects and evidence that could strengthen the ongoing investigation.
