Federal Police arrested ten people and seized approximately 102 kg of cocaine at São Paulo International Airport in Guarulhos during operations carried out on 1st and 2nd June. The information comes from gov.br.
Among those detained, four were airport employees suspected of involvement in drug trafficking schemes to abroad. In one of the incidents, federal agents found two suspects in a restricted area with 66 kg of cocaine. In another operation, two employees were caught handing over a rucksack containing 20 kg of the drug to a Portuguese passenger who was about to board a flight to Lisbon.
Four other suspects were arrested for international drug trafficking. In these seizures, approximately 16 kg of cocaine were found in baggage, under clothing and in capsules transported by travellers heading to countries in Europe and Asia.
During inspections, a woman was identified attempting to board with a third party's document and was charged with false identity. An additional arrest was made for non-payment of maintenance support.
