The Civil Police arrested police soldier Vinícius Costa Silva on Monday afternoon (7) on suspicion of feminicide against his wife, Larissa Cruz Morata, 29 years old. According to agenciabrasil.ebc.com.br, Larissa was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in the bathroom of the couple's residence in Embu das Artes, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.
It was Vinícius himself who called the Military Police, stating that he had found his wife lifeless when he woke up. The Civil Police, however, executed a temporary arrest warrant after investigations identified evidence of culpability.
The São Paulo State Public Security Department (SSP-SP) informed that the measure was decreed in light of "the occurrence of a criminal infraction to be investigated, given the dynamics of the facts and preliminary objective elements gathered".
As a member of the Military Police, Vinícius was presented by the Internal Affairs Department of the corporation and will be held at the Romão Gomes Military Prison. "The case is being investigated as a suspected death by the Embu das Artes Police Station. Inquiries are continuing to clarify all the facts," declared the SSP-SP.
