Civil police officers rescued a 23-year-old man who would have been killed by a criminal faction after being held in unlawful detention for four hours in the east zone of São Paulo's capital.

An operation by the Civil Police prevented the execution of a 23-year-old man who was under the control of a criminal faction in the east zone of São Paulo. The victim, held in unlawful detention, was rescued and, after being questioned, indicated to officers the locations where the suspects were, which led to the arrest of one of those involved.
The investigation began when police received information about the kidnapping. During the search for the young man, investigators identified five people linked to the crime. The victim was found in the hall of a building, in a state of shock. He had been abducted because of a disagreement with a man nicknamed "Gordão", owner of a drinks store and alleged member of a faction.
The young man's detention lasted around four hours, a period in which he suffered threats. The police intervention prevented him from being executed. Four of the suspects remain at large, whilst Gordão was detained at the shop itself.
