Civil police in the northern region of Minas Gerais have arrested a 26-year-old man accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old child. The arrest took place on Monday (22), in São Francisco, under a preventive custody order issued by the court system.
The case came to light on 8 February of this year, when an audio reporting the crime circulated through a messaging application and reached officers at the municipal police station.
The PCMG explained that the detainee was not a relative of the victim, but frequently visited the property where she lived. It was precisely this contact that he allegedly used to lure the child to a location covered with vegetation, where he is alleged to have sexually assaulted her.
The police authority requested from the competent judge the preventive detention of the suspect. Following approval, the warrant was executed on the 22nd. The prisoner was taken to a detention facility and awaits the next legal proceedings at the disposal of the court system.
The detention was ordered with the aim of halting the criminal conduct, ensuring the protection of the minor, maintaining public order, and preventing the repetition of offences.
