Man wanted for femicide found hidden on rural property and shot after confrontation
Anderson Souza Andrade Ramos, 42 years old, wanted for the femicide of Talita Ramos Andrade, 35 years old, was arrested on the afternoon of Monday, 7 December in Artur Nogueira (SP), after being shot in an exchange of gunfire with the Municipal Guard. According to g1.globo.com, he was found hidden beneath a chicken coop on a property in Jardim Blumenau.
The search brought together teams from the Municipal Guard and Civil and Military Police, with support from the PM's Águia helicopter. The operation was launched after Anderson was spotted in the region — according to the Guard, he had allegedly attempted to steal a car.
During the search, the suspect entered a property and held a family hostage. With the arrival of the teams, he managed to flee again. Officers returned to the property for another sweep.
"We decided to conduct another sweep of the location where the individual was found. The same person fired back and shot at the team. And the team returned fire in self-defence," said Marcelo Fantini, commander of the Municipal Guard.
Anderson was rescued alive and taken to the emergency room. The Civil Police did not release information about his state of health.
Victim had protective order and had relocated
Talita had a protective order against her ex-partner and had filed a police report this year reporting constant threats. According to the Civil Police, the victim's body showed gunshot wounds and signs of violence on the face.
She had moved away to rebuild her life after the end of the relationship. The body was found on a rural road, on Estrada da Torre, near the entrance to the Recanto das Palmeiras condominium, after a resident called the Municipal Guard. The Civil Police believe the body was transported and abandoned at that location.
Justice had ordered Anderson's preventive detention following the crime. The suspect's car was located by the Municipal Guard on Sunday, 6 December, one day before his arrest.
"A mother who fought hard for her children"
Talita left three children. Friends described her as hardworking and dedicated to family.
"Talita was a wonderful mother, a fighter," said friend Sheila Aparecida Beck.
According to Sheila, Talita devoted herself to work and her children and was known for her determination to overcome difficulties. "She was going to work. She was not lazy. She would go cleaning, she was a manicurist, she did everything," she reported.
"She was a very brave girl, a mother who fought very hard for her children. Her children are an example. There are two boys and a girl. I still cannot believe it," the friend added.
