The Swiss festival, one of Europe's largest open-air music events, has taken a public stance in the context of mounting accusations against the French singer. The organisation specified that the facts at issue internally date from 2019 and involve a volunteer member of the festival.
This decision comes as a new complainant has accused Patrick Bruel of raping her following a concert. According to DHnet, the woman stated: "I could no longer control anything." Accusations are thus accumulating against the artist on several fronts.
Franceinfo reports that the Paléo Festival has also denounced the singer's behaviour towards the volunteer in 2019, confirming that the establishment will no longer call upon him in the future.
BFM for its part specifies that the festival's decision follows the complaint filed by this volunteer.
The affair is sparking contrasting reactions in artistic circles. Actress Chantal Ladesou spoke out against the grain in Paris Match, arguing: "We have no right to prevent artists from performing." Patrick Bruel has not yet publicly responded to the most recent accusations.
