Joint confrontation hearing in Sion under heavy police protection
As gmx.ch reports, Jacques and Jessica Moretti appeared on Friday for a confrontation hearing in connection with the Crans-Montana fire disaster before the court. The couple arrived together in the same vehicle at around 8 a.m. at the Energypolis campus in Sion.
It was the first joint hearing of the two co-owners of the bar "Le Constellation" by the competent public prosecutors' pool. The session took place in the presence of lawyers for all parties, who were also granted the right to question the couple.
Several defence lawyers voiced criticism of the late timing of the hearing upon arrival and warned of the possibility of collusion between the accused.
Security measures on site were substantial: cordoning barriers and banners from the Valais cantonal police framed the entrance to the hearing room. Around ten police officers were positioned in the vicinity of the university building.
